Alexander Rutherford Scholarship - Students can apply once they have been accepted into full-time studies at a post-secondary institution. The value of the award is up to $2500 and is based on the average of 5 designated courses in each of the grade 10, 11 and 12 years. An average of 75% to 79.9% or an average of 80% or better are required for this scholarship. There is no deadline to apply, and applications usually open in July or August for a September start.

School Scholarship

Ron Kur Academic Scholarship – Two scholarships valued at $10,000 each will be awarded every year to Sturgeon Composite graduates. Successful candidates must be accepted to an accredited university full-time program with enrollment scheduled for September of their graduation year. Applicants will be assessed in the following areas: academics, community/school involvement, essay, reference letters and interview.

Deadline to apply is September 5, 2024.

Ron Kur Scholarship Application

Sturgeon Public Schools Bursary A $500 bursary is awarded to one Sturgeon Composite graduate. The recipient must not be receiving the Sturgeon Public Schools Scholarship and must have an average of 70% based on the student’s 30 level subjects in at least 25 credits. Consideration is given to student achievement and student participation in extra-curricular activities.

Bursary Information Conditions

 

Xerox and Konica Minolta Scholarships - These scholarships of $250 are awarded to two Sturgeon Composite High School graduates and two Redwater School graduates who have demonstrated exemplary work habits, have an interest in technology and advancing technology in their education, and are pursuing a post-secondary education in the school year following graduation from high school.

TAKE NOTE! Some companies offer scholarships to children of their employees. Ask your parents if their employer has scholarship opportunities that you can apply for.
